The Global Commission on the Economics of Water calls for systemic, mission-oriented action to address the global water crisis by protecting the hydrological cycle, tackling water challenges through five key missions— 1) transforming food systems, 2) protecting and restoring natural habitats, 3) promoting a circular economy, 4) enhancing water efficiency, and 5) ensuring universal access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH)—and prioritizing efficiency, equity, and sustainability.
