Global State of National Urban Policy 2024

Building Resilience and Promoting Adequate, Inclusive and Sustainable Housing The third edition of the Global State of National Urban Policy report, by the OECD and UN-Habitat, analyzes National Urban Policies (NUPs) across 78 countries. It highlights their role in addressing urban challenges like inequalities, housing shortages, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Using a novel classification methodology, the report shows that over 80% of countries report positive outcomes in managing urbanization and enhancing resilience through NUPs. It provides actionable insights for policymakers to improve urban life and advance Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11: creating inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities.
