Topic: How to integrate the Climate Action Plan in the local regulatory framework, specifically in the statutory planning ?  

By the end of the module, participants will:

  • Understand how to define a comprehensive process to integrate the climate goals into the urban regulatory instruments.
  • Learn to look at the urban planning processes with a different lens
  • Identify their urban planning innovations towards integrating climate neutrality into the urban planning dynamics through adaptive planning approaches.

Who is this session for?

  • Mission Cities are aiming to integrate their Climate City Contracts (CCC)  into their urban regulatory framework through specific urban planning instruments (Master plan / Land Use Plan, etc.).
  • Mission Minded Cities interested in integrating climate goals into their urban regulatory framework through specific urban planning instruments (Master plan / Land Use Plan, etc.) 
  • Municipal technicians, urban planning and sustainability officers, as well as local policymakers and public administrators involved in the development, implementation, monitoring and adaptation of their urban planning instruments towards climate neutrality. 
  • Local climate process facilitators, including: 
    • Urban consultants and advisors 
    • National or regional technical support teams 
    • Representatives from national platforms (climate hubs, technical offices, city networks) 
    • Staff from metropolitan agencies
