Challenge

Change habit not climate! The challenge is to tackle the climate crisis by supporting children and adults to take their own action and to educate new agents of change. Natural resources on the planet are running out, so we need to develop new habits and encourage people to use the goods we have wisely.

Solution

Education through experience! The program “Łódź Schools for Climate” teaches children and professors about the climate. Special trainings for teachers raise their ecological awareness, via active education and the participation of a psychologist, students become more conscious and finally - teacher-student-led experiments, targeting specific challenges such as saving water, saving energy, ecological transport, limiting meat consumption, reducing food waste, ecological shopping, limiting internet use and spending specific time in nature, make the fight for the climate a common cause. Afterwards, wrap-up workshops summarize and conclude the activities. Additionally, the program is complemented by investment elements such as green school yards, created to teach cooperation and shared responsibility for the environment.
